Ladies and gentleman, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for. You may now all download our tax return and statement of review from this very web site.
If you’re interested in transparency, how we spend our money (75% on programming, thankyouverymuch), or downloading really big files, this is for you.

Nice surplus. I’m looking at you, lines 18-21.
No really, this is a great resource for potential supporters. Guidestar.org is great (what with how you can get IRS 990s from any nonprofit) but it is often slow to post the info. And it doesn’t have audits or financial statements.
So I’m happy to see the transparency.
I think this is great Lain. Awesome way to step up and be transparent. Although the Nest should really strive for a 80/20 split between programing and overhead. But I know that can be hard. I know that all too well. Still a 75/25 split is darn good!
I like how the section that lists you salary has you down working 50 hours a week.
Deb, you’re exactly right about that split …though I think that the importance given to that percentage can be a little deceiving sometimes with smaller non-profits.
So, like, for example, one of our main programs was the Wren’s Nest Publishing Co, and while some of our salaries went toward that particular program, we only spent $94 otherwise for the whole summer. We even turned a profit with the sales at the DBF.
Had we had a reasonable budget for the WNPCo, our programming percentage would have improved. But as it stood, we relied on volunteers, a $20 white board, and $74 to get stuff for the literary salon.
Anyway, thanks for the kind words guys. I had a lot of fun scanning everything in.
Well, not really.
