Song of the South Foolishness

Written on April 2, 2009 at 1:11 pm, by Amelia

As most of you figured out, yesterday’s post was an April Fool’s Day joke.   Smarties.

The biggest tip-off was probably the fact that the “news” was reported in a calm, informative manner.  Let’s be serious — if Song of the South really were to be released, our blog post would most likely read something like this:

GACK!  Song of the South — released!  Excitement!  No, for real!  Big things poppin’!  It’s happening!  Who wants to get a beer or twelve?!  Guys!  The movie!  Money?  Maybe!  Oh man oh man oh man.  Gotta answer the phone!  Big news!

Perhaps we should write a post now, with clear heads, to keep on hand just in case. That way we won’t sound like a fleet of monkeys with typewriters hopped up on goofballs when it really does happen.  If it really does happen.  Fingers crossed.

Anyhow, happy April 2nd!

  1. I’m just pleased that I was the first person to fall for it and comment on the post. Good job. :)

  2. David says:

    First sucker status, eh?

  3. lain says:

Usually that title is reserved for me. I dodged a bullet on this one.

  4. Any chance I can win a prize for being the most gullible? Or, as David said, “first sucker”?

  5. Amelia says:

Haley, would rock candy be an appropriate prize for “first sucker”?

  6. David says:

Haley, you’re just lucky I didn’t see that post until there were a few comments on it-I would have snagged that title for sure.

  7. Amelia, I think that would be highly appropriate. And David, you can have that title any day. :)

  8. Margos says:

That isn’t funny. Not at all. Do you understand the commotion you probably just caused on Ultimate Disney.com? I for one almost ran down the stairs, weeping with tears of joy, and announcing to my entire family that this film would finally be available. Now I feel more crushed about this than I have before. Thanks. Please lie about something a little less important, next time.

  9. David says:

Margos, I think that, more than anything else, points to the ridiculousness of the Disney’s decision not to release the movie. Remember, it isn’t the fault of the Wren’s Nest the movie isn’t out-they just made it clear why it should be.
