The arm trick helps, but c'mon, if you can make a properly straight line, why wouldn't you! We only did without because we got dinged marks if we used one (I swear-you lost marks if they thought your lines were too straight). That drawing is better than a lot of my fellow students could manage by the end of the semester. Just figured you wouldn't lie to poor Amelia! Stick with a straight edge. I didn't use a ruler, but I did use the straight edge of an envelope. Perhaps this also explains my redundant measurements! Did you take a drafting course too? I figured only engineers were made to suffer that much. And folks, it is possible to draw such straight lines freehand.
